Cool bike.

their bread and butter bike was the 350 Californian from the mid 60's on....built a zillion of 'em. They built a twingle too, I think 50's and 60's?

A good buddy works at Motion Pro, I got a tour of the place a few years back when I rode out for MotoGP. The owner (Chris Carter, former ISDT gold medal winner) has a good size collection of CZ's, lots of pretty rare motocross bikes from their heyday.

Close. If I recall correctly the owner said 1961.

Today was set aside to update the work bench area.

The problem: Not enough work space. Dave (uncle dirt) donated a burly work bench that his late father used for years.

Beginning:

Original spot for the bench.

The legs needed to be extended.

Getting jacked into place.

All done. In place and level with existing bench.

Time to go take a ride down to home depot

Maybe not as many bikes on the road Memorial Day as I expected I'd see.

This is unbelievable.. basically a guy is in the desert and breaks an a-arm and frame in his Citreon car... he spends the next 12 days building a motorcycle out of the parts and rides it out of the desert.

He did things like drill holes by folding a flat piece is half, cutting a notch and then unfolding it back flat

Wow! That beats my favorite story of Roesler carving a plug out of a stick, driving it in a busted side cover, draining the oil from his forks into the tranny to get home... impressive!

Google Translator works just fine.

He sure had an interesting time after he rode out of the desert. Quite the tale.

Google Chrome will translate it for you (except for the picture captions). I am not sure I believe this, but one of the pictures looks like he makes his own clothes too. Or maybe that is just the Frenchie look. Very interesting. Now I know what to do when my Dodge truck breaks down in the desert. I certainly carry more tools than he did.
