I found out the weirdest thing today: From my house, Kingsley Reservoir is 74 miles, but from KR to my house is 327 miles.

BTW, anybody know why I went there, I forget.

Apparently, to ride 301 miles around a beautiful mountain through the forest on a pretty decent day,
what more excuse do you need?

How to park your bike at Diamond Mill

We missed the turn-off to the trail we knew about, and ended up heading up this old logging road:

Being two old guys, a rock step-up on the far side of a stream crossing where neither of us could get any traction had us winded, but we decided to press on.

Another couple creek crossings later, Mark showed me the true meaning of "ShinySideUp":

Yes, that is a very shiny skid-plate, Mark!

After half an hour of pulling and pushing, we finally got the bike up out of the creek and back onto the trail. The wonder of fuel-injection -- the darn thing started up on the first crank.

After lunch we did a lot better.

Thanks lunchkrispy, Luke, and clapped--good ridin'. I didn't get any good pics other than this one with Luke inspecting the carb of his stripped-down trials. clapped, you get any good pics of Luke's hill climb (or descent, rather) that was the prelude to a non-running Scorpa?

By the time I got around to taking pictures, it was dark, and I was drunk.
The flash would not work, so....

You first

What's the point of riding a bike if you only go places that you can walk?

And on that note.... Aclark and I are going to Browns Camp tomorrow. It should be a lot easier than our last ride.
Plan is to stage out of the Roger's Camp parking lot at 10.

Yesterday at Diamond Mill

They don't hurt so much if you're wearing pads. They don't hurt at all if you don't fall on them.
