I don't think lengthening the swingarm will help much with the stock inner fender. Most of my travel increase came from the inner fender mods.

I wonder if the R1 shock dampening is up to the task?

i thought you had a R1 on there already. the whole deal with the R1 is the spring rate you choose. excellent shock.

get that rat buttoned up, almost time to hit the road.

hey, don't forget to vote.

I don't plan to keep the stock inner fender, I can't imagine it will last too long getting pounded by the rear wheel. I found some Versys parts like 100 miles away, the guy won't ship but I may go buy the peg mounts and tank. If he'll ship the peg mounts, I probably won't go pick up the tank, though an extra gallon would be nice.

I'm currently running a 13 kg/mm spring on my shock, I think it should be fine for my weight (155lbs), though I do bottom it out regularly off road. I probably need to up the preload and dampening a bit.

Yes, there is an R1 shock on the bike with the same spring as you are using. When I stroke the rear suspension in the shop it compresses and rebounds a lot faster that my KTM 200 or the KLR, it seems like it could benefit from heavier oil. But I am an idiot when it comes to suspension tuning. I'll have to get it out on some ATV trails this weekend and try adjusting the settings and see how it works.

Yes voted AGAIN today. Same result as last time, hmm maybe the tax payers of our fine state know what they want. What a waste of money this election was.

then that R1 should work great, you just need to adjust it. you need to have your touring load on the back, real or simulated, unless you want to make notes on two setups.

yeah, i talked to an old friend in madison over the weekend, he was pretty angry about the $18M taxpayer cost to conduct the recall election.

Heh, right? :)

When/if I ever build my shop out back (shortly after I win the lotto), ought not be a problem. Now, not so much...

Sorry to hear you're injured... hope you're healing well.

Hoping to get my 6 pins and external fixator removed Friday. Then I can start trying to strengthen my wrist a bit. Healing is going well so far. Thanks

Haha not what I meant, but likely a truthful statement. It's like losing your best friend.
