After I got the new wiring harness installed I was having this same problem with the bulbs in the front not making good contact. If the front bulb or any bulb doesn't work then the tell tale light in the instrument cluster flashes only once and I end up riding around with one of my rear turn signals flashing away till I think I want to make another turn and discover the switch is turned up or down. I only have my rear turn signals off about a hundred yards before any turn.

I was going batty with 1157 bulbs. Turns out that was the problem. This is an American made fairing but it is wired for the European bulbs. They have a slightly different dimension and the contacts on the base are not round in the European bulb. They are lens shaped. Bigger than American 1157 bulbs. And here's the key, to get European style bulbs look for part # 7528. It's not an 1157 it's a 7528.
