Glad you're back Daive,
and sorry for your loss. I am a big fan of shepherds, had a few myself, you're stories always seem to hit home and glad you're able to share such personal and intimate parts of your lives with us. Thank you. Ride on.

Dave, we've had the same thing happen to us and when you've lived it you know and feel the hurt that others are feeling. I'm still sniffling as I type this now. My avatar is a picture of Libby our 13 yr old yellow Lab, she is our angel and I dread the day she goes. I've had to give up many trips because of her age but even if I never did another cross country ride the love she gives is worth it. Sorry to ramble.
Bob

I'm in. Once again. BTW, my family and I were in Perdido Key all last week. Beautiful place, Lord willing we will be back for years to come. Sorry to hear about Mowgli, we lost our 18 year old Sasha last year. I got her for my wife when we first started dating. And I can relate to the ladder mishap, when I'm not fighting fires, myself and another firefighter have a vinyl siding business. 12 years and no major falls. Your RR are some of the best on this site. If you ever decide to write a book about your travels, I'll buy it.

Well, iDave, there you go again. You've interrupted my day by posting another ride report. Ain't nothing getting done now until I get the end.
Sorry to hear about Mowgli. He was a beautiful dog. I'm glad I got to pet him ... once while he was under tight control. ![]() I'm looking forward to your ride report. I'm thinking about heading down that way myself this year. I might be in your neck of the woods too. Ride safe. Keep the writing coming. Brent

Hi Dave,
So sorry for your loss. We foster dogs and I know how I feel when I have to let them go but at least my loss is offset with the happiness of knowing they have a new home with a life ahead of them. Subscribed and looking forward to another one of your RRs. Best, Diane |

Dave and Julie, as a dog lover and owner myself, I can't imagine how you feel.
Ladders are another subject. I had one break 3 years ago without warning. Straight down I went. Took me a few minutes to get up again. Luckily no broken bones, but plenty bruises. Looking forward to the rest of this ride report. Jorg. |

Oh good - glad to have found this!
Dave, thanks much for writing. Your stories are often so easy to relate to and you have some excellent writing skills. That contentment couldn't be age-related, now could it?
