It helps in all areas. I am sure it acts as a bit of sail when its windy but it is so much better than stock.

How do I install my Garmin GPS with the Mirage 2 screen? Do I need to drill holes?

If you adjust the screws so they're just a little looser than snug, you can move the screen while on the go. It will stay where you put it.

Yes, you need to drill holes. Check your PMs.

Some guys tighten the adjusters just tight enough to hold the windshield in place, but loose enough to tap it down and/or pull it up on the fly. Personally, I stop to adjust mine. Honestly, the only time I adjust mine is when I head offroad or if I'm just going to be running around town and it's super hot out. In those instances, I adjust it all the way down and it's like running without a window at all. Very nice on a real hot day!

Cool, I intend to adjust it only when stopped. I usually know what kind of wind conditions I'll be facing.

I'm super excited to use it, I think it will make a huge different on my commute from Foster City to San Francisco past the water, it gets ridiculously windy.

Was bored the other day so I decided to paint my fairing with the leftover paint I had from painting the bike.

I've found the perfect tightness setting where I can adjust it just before entering the highway or just getting off without danger but I do it when stopped.

I just stand on my pegs and reach around the front. Probably not the safest, but I feel comfortable doing it.
