Thanks for posting part-2.
After watching the videos now it all makes sense why Iain was so pumped about how the bike handled with the paddle tire. Oh, and the tire still looked in pretty good shape when I saw it. Jon...

May seem like a dumb question, but....
How do we do direct links to youtube videos like the ones in here. I've tried copy pasting the complete link and I can't see it in preview. I've tried doing it the same as a few different formats that I've seen in this thread and they don't seem to work. Scratching my head. No it's not head lice. |

![]() Inspiration there. I have all the pieces in place to take my 800gs to the track and I keep thinking, 'why?' I think 'why not' is more where my head is at after watching this. Based on the experience you guys had that day, do you think it's possible for someone with track riding experience to get their knee down on the 800gs? Has anyone ever done it on this bike before? I've looked but I haven't found anything.

Knee Down
I don't know if you could get your knee down since the bike is tall but it would be fun to try!

Some boring 2 up riding in National Parks. I swear a lot. Didn't know I did. So you've been warned. Background: Standard gearing, D952 front/Mitas E09 rear, with pillion and camping gear, approx 430kg load out. I'm braking down below 1000rpm at times. The engine does some funny things when you do that. If you clutch in it tends to stall and you lock the rear wheel and it all goes pear shaped. If it doesn't stall when you clutch in, the rear wheel locks any way and it all goes pear shaped. I'm just trying to get it to walk down the incline over rocks and loose crap without it running away on me. This is about as steep as the F800 will play 2 up, both climbing and descending. It is a real workout. This was one of my first forays off-road with wifey on the bike with me. I have learned some interesting ways around the BMWs traits since then. I had just prior to this fitted the Ohlins rear shock and front springs. Rear spring rate was 17kg/mm, front .55. I bottom it a few times during this clip. But there is one good hit. |

X Overland
Just released our 4th EP. Shot mostly in Lockhart Basin in Moab
We try to work hard on story, and I mean Actual Story, not made up crap on most reality TV, and I think we did a pretty good job on this one. Quite a few funny parts. But I understand some of you just want to see bike, so here are some Bike heavy areas / cool shots: 6:35 8:13 12:05 13:08 16:18 19:24 20:15 23:05 And here is the Video: Episode 4 "Laugh and Cry" from Hiline Productions on Vimeo. Also, for perspective, the bike is totaly stock from a performance standpoint, only protection (hand, skid, crash, and wind) has been added. IE, no fueling changes, steering stabilizer, or suspension mods. Thanks for watching, and hope you like it!! Ryan

Excellent.
The only way to learn sand riding results in sand in your underwear. It's like a rule or something. |

Voice over always helps. That's one of the reasons MotoRiley's videos are so enjoyable. Besides, if you are part of Apormc I thought voice overs were a requirement Jon...
