seriously, it's probably those guys from American Pickers.
They pay anything that will get them air time.

And yes I DID call someone I don't know a "dumb-ass". If you're that guy and you take offense, wellllll......it is what it is.
What is distressing is that it "Sold For: US $1,495.00". Bad thing is that paying that much for a POS sets a bad precedent.

Wonder when the buyer will show up here for resto help?

This bombed-out /2 was too much. At $1500, I wonder if someone wasn't just joking, or an audience shill...

Hey Bill how about starting a thread with those pics, and calling it "When BMWs Morph into Yard Art" or something of that nature?
I am too old and stubborn to try and learn yet another way to post pictures to this forum since the easy method was yanked last year.

I'm re-porpoising it as a weathervane atop my new garage; we get some stiff winds.

Did you guys see the location of that rusty heap?

Sanford, Fla.

Those folks are used to "Standing Your Ground", when confronted with life threatening motos....

At least it HAS an exhaust system, unlike that poor G/S from a few years ago.

You realize you're talking to an era whom had kids before the internet was even a military thought?

I wondered when someone was going to dredge up that incident.

so I admit I am not that familiar with the G/S bikes. But a bike wiht less than 20k on it, is it normal to have the forks rebuilt and the final drive resealed and new shoes ?
Not trying to be funny or sound stupid or anything, just curious
not curious in buying or anything, just curious of the life span of the G/S
then again , maybe its the age, not the miles
