Suzuki TS400 Spark Help!
I'm hoping there might be some Suzuki TS/TM gurus here that can help me with a problem I'm having with my 1973 TS400.
I just purchase it, She had been sitting for 30 years, and only has 385 genuine miles.
Did all the usual stuff, cleaned and lubricated, new oil etc etc.
Started right up on second kick.... yipeeee
over the next weeks started real easy, but today tried again, no start... fuel good but no spark.
Did the usual again, changed plug, checked leads and connectors, Kill switch etc.... still no spark
tested the coil, seems ok,
Now while stuffing around I noticed that after kicking it over, and getting no spark I happened to press the kill switch,
and there you go one full strong spark, but just one.
I can repeat it over and over, kick it over and then press the switch and get one good spark.
Now my question is .... has anyone seen this before?
Is it the CDI unit, coil or maybe a bad wire or earth?
really appreciate any help you can offer.
before I start laying out hard cash
while here does anyone know if the CDI units from other Suzuki bikes are compatible ie: PE, other TS or TM etc.
Cheers in advance
I have opinions of my own --strong opinions-- but I don't always agree with them. George W Bush
