That looks great! How do the weight savings affect the ride?

You fixed the one thing I hated about my wee, how it looked. Nice job. I am planning on getting another and selling my SV naked.

Can you give some detail shots of what you did with the instruments? I'm doing a similar treatment to mine, and mounting the instruments has been the biggest pain so far.

In the last pic he posted you can kinda see his instrument setup. It looks like he's using a Vapor (or similar) all-in-one style digital computer.

Well there's nothing really complicated about what i've done. I used a steel plate on top of the trail tech 8 inch race light. I bolted the new endurance 2 speedometer and voila. Going with the vapor would have been a wiser choice, but i don't care much for the tach or temp gauge. I still havent painted the plate because i want to put on a couple of indicator lights for oil pressure and flashers etc. As for the rest, the fender is the supermoto fender from acerbis, and the mirrors are from aprilia with integrated flashers for a cleaner front end. I modified cable routing so that it doesn't touch the light ( it gets hot ) and obviously you need braided brake lines to go with the sumo fender. The front end feels awesome and light. The bike overall feels a lot smaller and i get better mpg ( 5l/100km flat constantly instead of 5.5 believe it or not ). The downside is that you can't go on all day on the freeway battling the wind without being tired but that's true for any naked bike.
As it turns out, the whole setup can be removed and the stock front end put back on since you don't have to cut any wires in the loom because it's long enough. The only thing i don't like is the empty insides of the gas tank that you can see. Might try to fab something up in fiberglass or something. Other that that im totally stocked about this. As a tall guy i could not get rid of the buffeting front the front end. I also thought the bike was fugly. Of course when we get together at the bar people are like.. What is dat thing dude ? looks like them euro bmw bike adventure things ? At least i think it looks very badass So far i've run this setup for 1900 km and it's very solid. No problems at all.

alright
alright here are some new pics from this afternoon. I finally got around painting the parts since i've had a bit of time not riding.
![]() ![]() ![]() It's been 3000 km with this setup. Feels great and the wind flows nicely around the machine.

Do you have plans for a tach, temp & gas gauge?
Sweet looking bike. |

no plans for fuel
. I know i can usually do 300 km with 15 litres of fuel fairly consistently. The tank contains 22. I fully fuel the bike when i get over 300 on the odometer and never really have a problem. When on a trip it's good practice to never pass a gas station since you are unsure where the next one will be. As far as im concerned, the only thing i'd like is a oil pressure light and a water overtemp light. I will get to it this winter. Right now it's kind of like riding my mx bike, i listen to the machine and if i feel something is not right, i stop and check. Without the fairings, everything is there for the eye to see with a quick glance. I think that having to many instruments and readings is in the way of finding the true sweet spot of the machine. I noticed that in my 3000 kms of riding without tach, i never went past redline into the limiter since you can feel the power dropping at a certain point, and it's time to shift. As far as the headlight goes, It's mental how far it lights up the road Of course the knob is there for easy-reach-out-while-riding adjustements

Any issues with the light on the road? Do other drivers flash you?
