Car Tire?

Looks like he is running a care tire on the rear. That could be a big part of the probem.

It looks like a regular MC tire to me, front and back...

My guess is insufficient clearance for the given lean angle, which it seems to be aggravated by the extra load, passenger + luggage...and let's trow in inexperience, shall we?

I think that Austen dude have something to do with Austenite?

Isn't Austenite a non-magnetic solid solution of carbon and iron that exists in steel above a critical temperature of 1333°F?

4. If the answer to my question to her is yes, she owes me.

5. Hopefully we may get some pix.

My east german instructor was a hot metallurgist. I almost failed the non ferrous class due to her low rise jeans, tight shirts and smile.

Yes and yes. But it gets a lot better. Sometimes other elements are added for various reasons. Among other things, they can be divided into two groups--austenite formers, and ferrite formers. Some elements are strong aust. formers, C and Ni. Cr is a strong ferrite former.

So, if you add a little Ni to a carbon steel, you can have aust. down to near absolute zero. Ni is amazing stuff. A small % can turn both gold and copper white/grey. It can also screw up your skin, which is why metallurgists long ago invented wooden nickels.

I hear you. I was somewhat distracted when taking my metallurgical engineering PE exams by a hot girl sitting next to me. Of course she wasn't a met., but was a flangehead (mech. engr.) Told me she was in charge of fixing the GM pickup gas tank rupturing problem.

Surprise, you can use a Rockwell test on things like aluminum, but you may have to change your balls.

I had her many times, for class. Never been more motivated to roll into a night class.
