And I'm with Alicethomas on the day 2 itinerary - Grindlewald and the Lautenbrunnen Valley are minutes from Interlaken. I would tend to stay closer to Interlaken than Berne just to get a jump on the day - although the ride down the Thunersee is a nice ride.
+1 on La Tremola vs. the main road. The turns can be a bit tight, but it's really not a challenge. Part of La Tremola as seen from the main road: ![]() Another bit is to stop in Innertkirchen between the Susten & Grimsel passes. The Hotel Hof und Post has a webcam that updates every second or so. The plaza by the bank (lower left corner) is a nice place to stop, call friends at home or at work, and wave to them as you tell them what a great time that you're having ![]() For some reason, they don't seem to appreciate the thought

@michaelj & @alicethomas -
Came back on Friday after lots of autobahn madness but the trip was a lot of fun! We missed a lot of places but we enjoyed so much more than we expected. Am definitely coming back!! ![]() Couldn't have been so much fun without the help you two extended over the last few weeks. Thanks a ton!! The least i can do is acknowledge your help and put up a trip log. Will do so in the coming week. And yeh, Michael, i found the small ice cream place in Glorenza and the ice cream sure was good. |
