Think cattle trails back and forth traversing down the side of a mountain, then a few off camber tightly wooded sections as you reach the meadow below, and back around to the right and up the hill, it is as difficult a place for a golf course as you'll ever see.
Much more brutal than the TV shows.

Simpson finished 2nd on the money list last year, but he hadn't done much this year until he stepped up in the Open. Four under for the last 13 holes on Sunday is strong stuff. The young man has game.

I haven't played in years but occasionally under pressure I had that snap hook in my bag, just like Furyk. And, come to think of it, Rory. And these days, Tiger. Unlike any of them I did not have a 300 yard driver in my bag.

Nike's new ad campaign built around el Tigre might have been timed better. Betcha it has a short run.

Don't really know the players. I only watch a bit of the majors. Was pulling for Furyk but kept wondering if not having a birdie or two early wouldn't have helped a bit. A bit of cushion and confidence for the pressure holes.

my kinda course. without the tightness and slick greens though

I looked at the hole layout on the Olympic Club's website a week or so before the Open and was stunned at the yardages but you dont get an appreciation for the difficulty till you see the views from the tee box in the televised coverage.

nice come-from-behind blitz by Webb. I thought McDowell had it in the bag. Furyk is a hard worker but I thought was wrapped a little too tight. He looked like he was on the edge of a meltdown when he stepped onto the 1st tee in the final round.

Wonder how the birdman got in there? that f-in cracked me up.
