No sd card and no cell data make it a little useless for me. But the price is excellent. I actually have an ipad 1 and frankly I can't see the need to upgrade yet.

I know nothing of the Android market place and various apps since I've got an iPhone.
Something about this device has me interested. If it has a GPS without the requirement of buying the cell hardware is it possible to preload maps from Google's database? I'm thinking this might be a nice GPS unit if placed in the map pocket of a tank bag. Of course there are other features that the device would be used for, but working as a GPS on my bike would ideal with a 7" display. |

I'll have to do a little searching. Maybe someone like TomTom allows you to buy their database along with an application for something less than an arm and a leg. |

I ordered a 16GB the day they were announced. This will be my first Tablet.
Bummer about only being able to download a small area of Google maps but TomTom is supposed to be releasing an Android app soon. |

I consider myself more of a power user so I never bothered with a tablet. Then my grandfather stopped using the XOOM I got him so I inherited it. I like it for browsing and short e-mails, beyond that I'm left wanting a PC. YMMV, I'm far from unhappy with it and probably would like the 7" even more as I'd have an easier time two thumb typing.

That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. After doing the update, I just downloaded the entire Puget Sound region as well as a large chunk of NorCal including all of Monterey and SF Bay and it is still asking me for more. 150 mb so far, and wants to store it on the SD card. It works too.

Why not just tether your phone to the tablet?

I see that I should have ordered from Staples instead.

You can just check the local stores stock on their website. I just walked in and got one.
