Terry has a dropoff in Indiana and northern VA sometime TBD, so I am going to swing the $300 Wonder Truck around towards where-ever he is and grab it off his trailer whenever that is. So nothing for a while yet...
If the 900 doesn't work out, it may take me a bit to locate a suitable tug. :3 But there will at least be a short and boring thread about fixing the rust in the tub and putting it in a building to gather dust until a tug is located. :3 What size are the balls for the two lower mounts? I saw a weld-on kit for $350 on fleabay, and coffee shot out of every orifice in my head (no offense if anyone here is the one selling them!). I am so in the wrong business, though, lol. |

Summary of PMs, in case someone runs across this thread while searching for info:
We both /think/ that the tug-side mounts are the same between Urals and CJ750s, both upper and lower, so sourcing CJ750 parts on fleabay. |

CB900C sidecar rig
![]() My First rig was a 1980 CB900C with a Hitchhiker sidecar that I mated up myself. The carbs were gunk when I got the $200.00 bike and the exhaust was shot. I got the carbs cleaned after tearing them apart three times, and bought a muffler off of Ebay and cut up the stock front pipes to make a custom 4 into 1 exhaust that dumped out opposite of the sidecar. The rig drove fine on the highway, with a slight shake in the 20mph range that was easily overcome with a little input through the handlebars. The high/low transmission is a real plus if you have to start out on a hill. The only negative that I didn't like about it is that it was a cold blooded beast, and took forever to get warmed up so you could drive it without partial choke on. The front axle on the 1980 CB900C was directly below the forks, while the 1981-82 models had them ahead of the forks. Using the triple trees from a 1980 model and the lower forks from a 81-82 model should effectively reduce your trail, I think.
