I just got a call from JCR to prepare roadbooks for the guys to use to test the new bikes over here in a month or so. Seems they are serious about getting the bugs worked out in some tough terrain while having some good roadbook navigation practice at the same time.

To get the requested 3000 km, I'll have to pull together almost all of the DVR stages, including the high-elevation (9600ft, 3000m) stuff from the Bishop-Dumont stage.

One more thing, apparently they are full-on HRC bikes (not adapted from other rally kits).

That's also the word here. HRC had something new already developed that is now being modified with Helder's suggestions / requirements.

just to poke an eye or 2 as you're w/ honda.

i'm sure we'd all love to know when finally honda updates the xr650l class bike and truly competes in the 800 adv market (a real transalp). i'm thinking that will happen after those classes have moved on to to the next standard up.
growing up honda was the leader, now all they do is follow way way behind.
maybe that's changing?

You could buzz around the desert on a couple of borrowed GS's and "accidently" be hanging out just at the right time at every highway crossing where my roadbook routes go! You might be able to get some spy photos of you own. Then come and borrow my 525 and do some of the routes yourself!
