I inquired on the G/S-
where was this bike stored if it has such low miles??? I'm looking at your photos, the bike looks well worn, particularly the rust on the exhaust, and pulse air. Plus the amount of oxidation on the engine, and all the scratches. Looks like it's been out side for quite a while. no reply yet..I wonder why??? BIN is $7,500 whew!!!!!

Low miles don't really mean much when you are talking about a thirty year old BMW...

People need to get their heads round the fact that BMW speedos go back to zero after 99999 miles and that 20,000 could easily be 120k or 220k.
It is also very easy to wind back a BMW speedo, I might have been guilty of that 30 years ago. In the UK all vehicles have an annual MOT inspection after 3 years, as part of this process mileage is recorded and can help give some support to mileage claims, but tuts nothing when it comes to vehicles!

"IT IS NO WAY FOR ME TO KNOW WILL IT FIT YOUR BIKE AND IS IT OEM OR AFTERMARKET PART. AND PLEASE DON'T ASK ME ABOUT MEASURMENTS. DON'T KNOW HOW TO MEASURE." Has balls. $1700 for: "ALL PARTS SOLD AS NOT WORKING JUNK. NEED CLEAN UP, PAINT, OIL ELBOW GREASE, ETC. NO RETURNS, NO EXCHANGES, NO WARRANTY. IF YOU NEED WORKING PART - THIS PART IS NOT FOR YOU." Yeah, right.

An '81 bean can ignition ... for $857.74 ![]() From what ass is he pulling these prices? From the listing: "BMW 1981 R100RT magneto assembly with wiring. This unit has not been tested for spark, though magnets are still strong, and bearings roll smoothly; outsides show some normal surface corrosion, insides are very clean. This unit fits all magneto ignition bikes of the 1970s & 1980s. May work on other "quirky" machines; check with your local sewing machine dealer before purchasing. Install and brag about it online! See our many discerning fans on ta'internets: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7927150 " PS - That link is to THIS thread.

I contacted the "junk moto parts" seller and requested the actual "Buy It Now" price for the $1700.00+ transmission, stating that he obviously had made a mistake in his listing. He replied rudely and called me an idiot.... ![]() I told him that his "Brilliant Listings" speak for themselves.....takes all kinds I guess.... |

I hate you people.
I'm now buying an aftermarket exhaust for my RT. I generally avoid Ebay unless I need something specific for my /5.... now look what you've done.
