I'd love whatever intel folks have for up there, I haven't explored the SQF enough.

There is a nice spot by Salmon Creek at the end of a short dirt road (part of the network for the SCE flume system), I also know of a neat spot by Parker Meadow Creek that's slightly off the beaten path.

Most off travel is with the family in my Jeeps, they don't let me get away solo too often :(

I unexpectedly have vacation time from July 21-29, and my significant other has given me a hall pass.

I'd like to take a trip in the Sequoias, but I'd rather not go solo. Anybody up for a 3-5 day trip up there? I'm fairly flexible. It could be a fully self contained trip on the bikes, or I'm open to trucking up there, set up a base camp, and take day trips from there.

I'd be on the Husky in the sig, skill level-cautious intermediate.

Anybody game?

Dave

Up in the Puites last week. Fun as always. Many of the trees that were down across the trails a couple weeks ago have been cleared.

Thumb Ride report for Sunday 7-8-2012 Western Divide

Sunday I rode solo simply because everyone else had to go home Saturday afternoon... I stayed the night at the ADV camp Klammer, woke up at 5:00 am, loaded up the bike and headed west toward the high country find some new (to me) trails...and this is what I found...

the cabin on Trout Creek

Haha, this is the exact spot where browneye dropped the Husky...on friday.

this is a nice high sierra rock garden

this is a great trail

I finally made it to the top, 9350'

I stuck my front wheel in the berm here and was quickly thrown off the bike.

no harm done though

Little Trout creek is near the end of the trail, Domeland Wilderness boundry is not far.

on the way back I took a nap under this nice Foxtail pine.

dumb dog pic

Domerock panorama view from elefant knoll to needle rocks

Just another day in paradise...

Ahh, the green hill, who want's to ride?

Great pictures and RR Perry..!!

I have also been here "Dome rock" and I think it's called "The Needles" you can see the pointed rocks in the distance.
Kobe and I hiked out on the trail to the fire lookout once...I think it was a two mile hike but the view was awesome.
We were on our way to "The trail of a hundred giants". You can only see this from KM on one trail.

RINCON..!! Coming down Cedar canyon and no one ever wants to ride it with me...
When I say lets ride Rincon thay look at me like I have lost my mind..!!

If you look closely from Dome rock you can see Rincon trail coming down Cedar Canyon.

Very few have seen the view from cedar canyon looking toward the Greenhorn mtns. But its awesome..!!
