Stupid Things You've Done

Well, here's my latest in a long line.
Last new air filter I installed I managed to bend back the edge pleat and tear it, so as a temporary fix I tore the pleat completly off, leaving abot 20mm at the base, stuck a length of gaffer tape, folded over to seal the pleat off until I could get to the parts man & get a new filter.
This morning I went to relace said filter & WTF? The gaffer has gone, disappeared!
The only place it could have gone is into the engine. Is this possible?
150mm of 50mm wide tape, you'd think it would have got caught up on something................
What damage might I have done?
Where is the Red Face Smilie?

Cut off another strip and light it. If it burns, forget about it.

You checked to make sure it hadn't got stuck on one of the throttle plates or in the intake tract somewhere right?

That's a pretty good sized hunk of tape...............
If you did end up burning it up you are REALLY lucky that it didn't get wedged behind a valve at some point and
cause an issue.... whew....

I couldn't believe it didn't get caught up somewhere on the way to the engine.
Funny thing is, I almost convinced myself that it was a stupid idea as I did it.
As you say, lucky.

potentially blowing up a motor over a $6 filter? Not even close.

My father in law tried to GIVE me 15 acres of land years ago, told him I didn't want it.

That land is now next to a giant subdivision and is going for $20k an acre.

Now THAT is stupid.

A couple of days ago I was weed whacking my lawn and decided to obliterate a piece of dog shit with it.

Did not end well.

Don't tell that to the people in Dubai. They'll not only make more land, they'll form it into the shape of palm trees and make resorts out of it!
