The original idea was to have WF in Woodland Park at the same time as Woodland Dirtfest. Dirtfest is a trail riding event, but it does not include any camping. The enduro would have been part of Dirtfest. When I couldn't find a campground in Woodland that could accommodate us that threw a wrench into the plan.

Other issues have also prevented Dirtfest from happening this year, but with what I've learned from this event, Woodland Dirtfest will be back next year and it will be bigger than what we've had in the past.

Breckenridge - Intermediate

This is a 140 mile loop of jeep trails, dirt roads, and some asphalt (but not much). This route will take you to Breckenridge via Georgia Pass and back on Boreas Pass. A plated bike is required.

This ride is best suited for large trail bikes or small dual sports (450 - 650cc). The most challenging part of the ride is the back side of Georgia Pass which is very rocky.

It's best if you take the Green Route there and the yellow one back. "X"s on the map indicate some of the trail junctions.

The longest section without gas is about 65 miles.

This route is a shortened form of BreckTreck. This route is a good bit easier (and shorter) than BreckTrek, but it still has it's challenges.

The west side of Georgia Pass is very rocky, loose babyheads as I recall.

Yes, it's ugly, but it's all down hill so all you have to do is believe in gravity.

Over four years of BreckTrek we've had 3 KTM 950s go over the pass, but all three were piloted by very experienced trail riders. Next biggest bike was an XR650R (of which we've had many), which is a much better bike for the job.

All depends on the fuel level.

If I show up the day of the event can I still get a tent site, eats, participate in events, etc?

I won't be able to make Westfest since we were just there for vacation and I can't justify going back in two weeks. I did make a couple of rides once we were sure the Waldo Canyon fire wasn't going to head for Woodland Park. I am going to atempt to add photos but this will be a first for me. The first ride started at the end of CR 5 North of Divide were it becomes FR 357 (Rule Ridge road) to CR 78 marked CR 73 (Painted Rocks road) to Westcreek (Hwy 67);
Hwy 67 to Deckers (CR 126); CR 126 to Pine Jct (Hwy285); Hwy 285 to Jefferson (CR 77); CR 77 (Terryall road) to Hwy 24 West of Lake George; Hwy 24 to Divide; CR 5 to start point. Round trip was 141 miles.

That didn't work as well as I had hoped. Photos are on Photobucket and are captioned. The first ride was on July 1st and turned out to be almost completely paved, every thing from Westcreek on. Hwy 285 was packed with traffic but once I turned on CR 77 there were very few vehicles. Stopped in Florissant for a Mountain Burger before heading back to the Cabin. One more try for the pics.
that didn't work I'll have to try later.

Last day to order shirts!

I need to close ordering so that I have time to get the shirts printed. Stickers are ready, and they look great!

So I just started planing a trip to Colorado (check out trip planning and contribute here) and only found out about both WestFest and RMAR today.

Who's doing both?

Anyone organizing any get-togethers or rides before/between/after?

It'll be my first time in CO and it would be great to meet some fellow riders to explore the area with.

Oh and If anyone is planning on heading there from CA, let me know.

You'll see several people at both events.
