I love the idea.., and the fact that you did what you wanted
But, what about the rear brakes??? you're not thinking of keeping the drum brakes are you??? |

i was going to convert to rear disc on the tw wheel but that will have to wait. the stock drum brake locks up the rear wheel so i think its good enough for now. i will have to see how it works on long down hills though. i dont really use my rear brake much since the bike has a lot of engine braking but i will see.

As a previous owner of a tw200 I think that bike looks like a hoot to ride in the worst places!

That's pretty sweet.
Since we're on the subject... I'm saving up for a Christini AWD 450. Most of my riding is wooded single-track with ruts, roots, and loose dirt. With AWD, I would like to swap the front 21-inch rim for an 18-incher and go wide on the front tire. Off-road... are there any severe adverse effects to running a 120 or 130 - 18 tire on the front, compared to the stock 90 - 21? Stretch67 screwed with this post 07-13-2012 at 03:52 PM |

yea stock yz426 forks and triples. the 4.60x18 actually touched the fork gaurd so i had to trim a few mm off the edge of one side knobby. i think i will run the 4.10x18 next but the 4.60 sure works great on oand off road for me.i measured 4.75 inches between the fork gaurds so i thought the tire would fit. little shave and its in there now.

yea on the road the thing is a blast! first gear gives off a nice atc tire spinning sound and a wide black mark on the road when popping the clutch standing taking off fast, talk about tuning peoples heads when i take off like that. love it! going to try it out off road sunday. cant wait.

An 18 inch wheel does not really work very well off road, but fitting a bigger (and taller) tire helps.
It adds weight though, making it hard to loft the front wheel over things, at least on the TW200 with its limited power. On the TW200 with a good big front tire (the stock tire is very wimpy) you can hit almost anything and just not feel it much. On other bikes, I always (tried to) avoided roots and so on, with the TW I just ignored them. I have tried dual sporting bikes with 18 inch front wheels, and they gave a very rough ride. |

Glad to see the great kubiak at it again!!
Dude, you have some great fabrication skills and some serious imagination. Bravo, once again on a choice build. ![]()
