I like the rear rack but for all that is holy, straighten your plug caps!

I just did the same thing - see the "Before and After" photo thread. Result:

As mentioned, ignition switch to the headlight bucket.

Turn signal wires need to be re-run through the fork ears to the signal stalks, assuming you go that route.

The RT-specific harness can be removed by accessing the wire bundle on the left side of the frame under the tank. It's not a rush project If you decide to re-mount the clock/voltmeter later it's just as easy to run fresh (and shorter) wire specific to those two items.

As you noted, the steel brake lines are now unsupported. I ordered stainless lines that went direct from the MC to the steel lines coming up from the brake calipers.

Be sure to plug the two holes in the front end where the RT fairing mount bolts up, if you ever plan to see any rain Don't be a dumbass like me and simply run the bolts back into the holes.

Well, if you ran the bolts back in the holes you'd suddenly be wondering why your steering head bearings got all sticky all of a sudden...

Today it was 60 something degrees and I was sweltering in stop and go traffic. Overdressed for the occasion due to the threat of rain on the way home. Wishing I didn't have the ginormous fairing, or that I had an open helmet.

I had already forgotten I had ridden 500 or so miles in weather between 30-50 degrees through the Adirondacks and whatever mountains are in Vermont.

I'm sure that if I was on a naked bike instead of the RT I would be craving a fairing.

I guess the only option that makes sense is that I need a new motorcycle.

The naked RT's look beautiful by the way guys. But too much money and too much work for me at the moment.

It still needs some mirrors, as well as a conversion of the front brake lines to naked spec. I was thinking of trying K75s mirrors - they're short, so would be OK with the wide, high bars fitted, and they're a fitment to the r100r as well as far as I can tell, so might be OK?

Anyway, here's how she looks now:

Yes, I know it's still nasty and filthy - I promise I'll wash it soon!

I've just offered up the rear carrier to see how it looks with the single seat - opinions welcome...
I like the rear rack. Where did you get it?

It's a Craven rack, I think - came with the bike.

Been doing some cosmetics the past few weeks, so a few more pics to follow soon...
