I bet there's not many MZ 4-strokes made it across the pond.

As Kfsinc posted constructed in precast sections usually 1' and 2' widths reinforced with steel re-bar, they are assembled and bolted together to the required size on to a concrete base. They are relativity common form of garage over here in the UK and cheaper than having a brick or block garage built.

Based in Ireland, lots of pics.

Must be a market there, can't say that I've heard of this here in the US.
Neat idea , but pricey compared to building one in the US.

I've been looking for someone to build a garage for me since my construction skills are not so great and I found a local contractor who specializes in garages. He is only offering a 1 year warranty on workmanship. Does anyone else think this is a little low?

I'll bet if you check the PA laws, that's what he is required to warrantee his work. If he has a license then there isn't much to worry about. If something goes wrong you can alway take him to court (if it's something obviously wrong). That said, let your fingers do the walking and get multiple bids. Ask for references (several). Then make the call.

In my state (SC) a one year warranty is required but there is no limit for construction defects. In other words if a garage door fails after 11 months he is required to fix it but if the walls rot because the flashing was installed improperly he can be held responsible for ever! Ask the builder to show you something he built 10 or 15 years ago. If he has been around that long he is probably doing a decent job. Make sure he has GL and WC insurance. Get the policies from his insurance carrier. Do not accept copies of the policies from him. The GL policy is what would pay if you discover defects down the road. GH
