Here I think you're talking about the chain guide, under the swingarm and in front of the rear sprocket.

This is also what I thought we were talking about.

But here it sounds like you're talking about the sprocket retainer and engine sprocket damper on the countershaft sprocket??

#32 and #33 here:
http://www.bikebandit.com/2004-suzuk...5873#sch505081

No, the sprocket cannot fall off without the sprocket damper. Without the damper, the sprocket can wobble a little more, but not much. That damper won't fit when using a 14t sprocket and many are using the 14t without a damper and having no problems.
Ok, we are talking about both. Sorry. To the dampened, I hit up lowes and found a rubber washer to put the tension back in. Makes me feel better.

Does that just bolt over the stock plastic guard?

In fact that was the reason I went with the 130 to begin with. I am at a lose as to why the different tread depths on the two sizes.
The reason for the tread depth differential is that the 120 is a front tire and the 130 is a rear. I just ordered a set of Scouts last week and called the customer service rep at Revzilla to double check on that. The correct front for the DR is 90/90-21 and for the rear is 130/80-17. They don't make a 120 rear in that tire (only front). Cant wait to get them on the bike.

Thanks for any input.
From memory they are rated for 6kg each side, not sure I would want to put much more than that in mine.

Hey Minsk that answers a few questions, thanks. I know it really puzzled me and now that you brought that to my attention, it make perfect sence.

I've been building a junkyard find DR650 for a while now and it is complete. Minus one small issue. The rear wheel I have is missing two spokes on the cush drive side. Hoping someone may have changed wheel sizes, mangled a rim and have extra, or any other way ended up with two extra rear spoke. I will gladly pay what you need for them, so I can be on the road.
Thanks
Rich
