Carb adjust, I am not sure how the card could just suddenly not be adjusted right. I had suspected plugged jets, but they were clean.

A new properly gapped plug did not help, so that's not it.

I am not sure how the ignition timing could suddenly change while riding it, if someone knows, educate me.

Silencer is not obstructed. I started it after putting oil in the cylinder for the compression test, and smoke coming from the exhaust showed that it was flowing fine.

Fuel line is not clogged, it is getting gas to the carb fine.

Thanks for all the ideas guys. So far I haven't gotten much help from the XT225 thread, but you guys have really come through for me.
Sounds like a valve to me, or a bearing, or both

Finally got to take the bike out for a spin after over a week without it, thanks to a nail in the rear tire. Probably could have gotten it back sooner, but the threat of rain all week, and a busy shop, kept me from doing so.

Lane splitting

Hi there gents,

At my command here the Motorcycle Safety guy is saying that as of a law change a few months ago lane splitting in Virginia is now legal. I don't buy it, but I would like to see a recent instruction or code to confirm or deny the authenticity of it.

Thanks....

I thought that the riding two abreast in the same lane passed, but not the lane splitting. I'll check on it.

§ 46.2-857. Driving two abreast in a single lane.

A person shall be guilty of reckless driving who drives any motor vehicle so as to be abreast of another vehicle in a lane designed for one vehicle, or drives any motor vehicle so as to travel abreast of any other vehicle traveling in a lane designed for one vehicle. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit two two-wheeled motorcycles from traveling abreast while traveling in a lane designated for one vehicle. In addition, this section shall not apply to (i) any validly authorized parade, motorcade, or motorcycle escort; (ii) a motor vehicle traveling in the same lane of traffic as a bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, electric power-assisted bicycle, or moped; nor shall it apply to (iii) any vehicle when lawfully overtaking and passing one or more vehicles traveling in the same direction in a separate lane.
