Hi Everyone,
This is my first post here. The reason I am posting is because I am looking to go on an 'Epic Motorcycle Trip'. That title is subjective because compared to some of the Epic trips I have read about here mine is a nice lil trip! Up to this point the most I have done is a weekend kind of thing 1500 Kms round trip + exploring. (Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia from Halifax, and Whitefish, MT from Calgary) My new plan is to ride to the West coast via Kelowna and Port Angeles, then hit the PCH south to San Francisco. I want to stay as close to the water as possible...with out getting wet, of course. Preliminary planning has me stopping in Seaside, OR, USA, then Coos Bay, OR, USA, then Klamath, California, USA and lastly San Francisco. Some extra time will be spent in Klamath exploring the national park there and some time hanging out in San Francisco. Then fast tracking back to Calgary via Oregon and Idaho... The bike I will be riding is a 2009 FJR 1300. I am a experienced rider, just not experienced with the long ride. What I am looking for is riding suggestions (Eg. you should ride the 96 thru Klamath National Forest), attraction recommendations (Eg. You need to hit the Redwood forest and ride through a redwood tree) and last but not least FOOD suggestions (you need to hit up the fisherman's wharf for the best Fish tacos ever at Bob's Taco Hut!) and of course another tips and helpful advice you can think of. Thanks! ![]() Glenn. dakota_c69 screwed with this post 07-22-2012 at 11:34 AM |
