That's about all the stroker stills I took at Broadford this year.

But this is me on my RD. I caught the Norton (amongst many others) on the corners and got passed on the straights, by almost everyone.

Here's some from the archives over the years. Most are from past Daytona visits.

Here's legendary tuner and pipe builder Harry Barlow back in 04

The Mojo Kawasaki racing effort back in 04

The old Framecrafters RD350

An early H2R conversion

A sweet little Yamaha

A nice TZ 250

A Honda parked next to it

Time to get serious. Assorted TZ750's and 700's

I'm not sure if that's Aldanada in the skeleton leather or not. I think he was there that year. 2009

Just lay that TZ mill over there on the ground will ya!

A nice land speed record holder.

More later..

Not mine I hasten to add. But i've always had a soft spot for the Rotax twin. Wish I could afford it .... and had the skills to do it justice.

Someone here needs to buy it

Some old ones from various Australian GPs

Doohan and Peter Goddard, I think. Eastern Creek.

John Kosinski, Eastern Creek, off Corporate Hill Actually, I don't think it is Kocisinski. It's ??? bloody hell. He's Italian, before Max.
LUCA CADALORA!!!

Garry McCoy

Remind me, so I don't have to search out a programme.

What a bloke... probably just needed a better bike.

Did okay on the one he had though.

I took these with FILM. Can we still get that stuff?
I even processed and hand printed the B&W ones

Lost skills. Maybe my skills weren't so great that it's not much of a loss.

This is my very own two stroke race bike. My very first race bike!
After nearly 40 years of riding, I finally got one. Because my missus said I could!

Not that I've raced, or even ridden, it yet. I scored it during the week. It's not been ridden for a couple of years so it will be interesting when it does finally get back out there

It looks like the problem is the inner webs have the crank pin cast into them, so the entire wheel would have to be remade to service the pin were it worn past spec. At least they last a little longer than the TZ units

Piston, rings and wrist pins are available aftermarket, and most of the gaskets and minor engine internals can be made or repaired if NOS isn't available. But the cranks.... they are vanishing and getting ever more expensive.

Not quite a TZ but I have a 91 TZR 250 3xv1 and have exactly the same problem with the crank, spare cranks are hard to come by! Japan has stock of complete new units, just have to figure out how to ride without an arm and a leg!

Well this sheds some light as to why I see so many race bikes being converted to highly modified RZ 350 based engines. While they will give up some performance you can at least get spares like cranks all day long in the aftermarket. I suppose you can thank the Banshee fanatics in large part for this.

I thought it was Chris Bradley's bike but it just looks very very similar... (as all the TR500 replicas should look alike!)

What gives it away as a T500 based TR replica? I know a little bit about Yamaha twins* but buggar all about much else.

This one is in Oz. And that was a correct statement in April, 2012.

*just enough to make an idiot of myself.

Awesome bikes thanks for the pics guys. I cant even imagine unleashing a 750 2 stroke, the load you'd have to be putting on that motor to get it to smooth out. I'd like to try for sure but I think the seat would be striped & wet after.
