Thumbs down 2012 Rallye Edition down at 2mph!

Stopped short, gully under right foot, unable to stop momentum.

It doesn't bounce :(

Wunderlich Rallye Edition Engine and Tank bars did their job, not a scratch to the tank or engine. Bars are getting re-powder coated the "correct color match" to subframe (they are not color correct from Wunderlich).

Minor ding to hand protectors, tiny scratches to Vario case, hairline scratch to plastic on mirror and the wind shield corner touched somehow. Other than that pretty clean, and what a lesson hopefully learned!

It was amazing how fast it all happened, slowness is the enemy of balance!

It being my first touch down with it, and only about 6 weeks old, I've been wrestling with fix or don't fix and pictures were not on my mind doh! The bars are already off and in the shop. The rest is so minor but I'll post them tonight.

I'm thinking the damage is so minimal I may just wave a few $$$ at it and make it new, just this once

I feel your pain as I know that sinking feeling well. You know that it's going over and you're not going to be able stop it.

I like the old saying "Big ships are safest when tied up in a harbor, but that isn't what big ships were made for". I think it applies to bikes too.

If you don't drop a GS, you are not riding it where you need to.

I'd feel better about it if it were off road....

However I'll embellish the story a bit...

3:30am trying to leave a festival in a city. A police car goes by at an intersection, and I ask directions. Unable to verbalize the directions they offer an escourt... Lol.

I'm following the police car, they blow off a "no turn on red sign" and against my better judgement proceed to follow, then see the oncoming lights... Hit the brake with plenty of room to spare, the bike is at a full stop for a split second, but the bike just drops to the right as my footing wasn't right. Boom!

The police car keeps going to the next light and waits for me to pick up the bike and continue following.

Never went down following a police car before

Hmm, some wise azz here could take that to mean you usually only go down while in front of them....
