For a start, probably TKC80 front, `cos I really trust them, and E07 rear. MT21 front and E09 (or Dakar) rear if I want something more `manly`.

Don`t know if anyone is bothering to look at this thread now, or even knows it`s here since it was moved, but I had a set of Mitas E07`s fitted to the 1100GS today. Both front and rear aren`t as fat or the carcass as stiff as the Heidenau K60 Scout, but they look up to the job. Very whiney on the bitumen, much louder, but not as rough at the TKC. $350.00 the pair, fitted and balanced, although I think a bit of mates rates may have applied. Even so, a lot cheaper than most tyres made for the big chookies.

Final Km tally for the TKC80/Heidenau k60 Scout was 18,150Km; could have gotten 20,000Km easily.

I moved it here so Mr Mitas can talk about the product directly with you guy's without getting complaints of spam.
I can easily move it back if you prefer.
I'm sure he will be along again soon.

I suppose I have got my nose out of joint a bit, but the way I see it is, Mr Mitas was not directly trying to sell people a tyre, but was trying to determine what people wanted, especially with the compound of the E07.

For the life of me, I can`t understand how anyone could construe this thread as spam.

Seems like I`m getting E07`s front and back. Ray has the wheels made up and fitted some tyres to protect the rims while they are sitting around. The front one will be OK for running in/shakedown purposes and can always be changed later on.

Will have to catch up on your shake down ride for a cuppa.

I have the E-07 front and back on the Tranny and they really surprise me how good they are off the bitumen, the back tyre especially.

When he gets a rolling chassis together you should come over to his workshop to have a look and have chat with him.

Hi guys
I have just fitted a E09 Dakar onto the rear of my 640 adventure that would have to be the worst tyre i have ever dealt with after about 1 hour of swearing i got it,
I hope it's as good as they say as i'm not looking forward to taking it off,
Picked it as we are doing about 8,000km around the top of WA,
Only 3 day's to go

Cheers Phil

Yep, they certainly do have a hard carcass, maybe the `ordinary` E09 would have been the go; they get reasonably good K`s as long as you don`t want to roost every living thing.

Rumour has it that only Dakar versions will be coming into Oz now.
