Cry Need new GRIPS asap

After just 35.000km I need grips replacement. Sure they aged naturally a bit but the real blow was an unknown substance sprayed by an idiot in a car wash. It attacked all aluminum parts and the grips which are now very sticky and worn.
I've read (I think on this forum but cant really remember for sure) that a 800gs owner managed to peal the old grips using a curving knife and slide some new ariettes in place. Cant seem to find the damn thread. Please help, I need to be doing this mod asap.

Thanks in advance!

that was me... http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...6#post18772366
I replaced them with old style r1150 gs grips because this is what i found available in my nearby store....
they are very comfy and a huge improvement to the worn out "sticky ones", but had I the opportunity, i would have opted for the ariete f800/r1200gs replica grips for aesthetic reasons...

Talking

My pleasure! I haven't tested their endurance to the heating feature yet to test their so called "aerospace material" but I guess at 1/10 of the price of the BMW grips one cannot go wrong!
