Off to Work...I'll Go Thru Long Beach, CA.

This is my first shot at postin' a report, so here goes.

From home I've got to head up through Long Beach to get to work. So I'll drag out the KLX and make a little fun of this. Turns out my 20 mi. trek took me about 2 hours. I beat the crowds for the most part leaving home somewhat early.

Out my garage and down a couple of blocks

Crossed out of Seal and into Long Beach to find alot of dredging going on in the harbor

As I approach the open views of the LB...The Queen & Carnival show up

I turned onto Shoreline Dr to get a view of Wyman's work. In the shot toward the Queen, you can notice the tires tracks that were laid down by the Indy cars that race the LB Grand Prix. This is the hairpin turn that leads to a "somewhat" 200 mph straight-away.

Lots of new development this past decade in downtown LB

Crossing the channel and heading toward the Queen Mary you can see the Carnival parked nearby. The dome to right of the Queen used to be home to the Spuce Goose, which has been moved to Oregon. The Goose made it's only flight very close to this area.

My mode of transportation and on to the Vincent Thomas Bridge

Now I'll try the "shootin' from bike" mode

At work, here's what I do...

On the way home, I'll jump off the 405 and head up to Signal Hill. SH is a city within LB that has it's roots in OIL. Lots of drilling on this hill way-back-when. Now, most of drilling has left and the developers have done what they do best and built many homes and condo's. Many have some darn good views! Late this afternoon was pretty hazy but I did try to capture downtown LB to the south and LB airport to the north. The LB airport is home of the C-17 and on any given day one can capture those birds flying in and out. From a different vantage point of SH, you can get decent glimpes of the C-17 finishing areas.

That's my shot at Day Trippin to work and back. Hats off to all of you that do this so well!
Thanks for taggin' along....
Sam

That's funny right there! My writing skills do suck. Next time, more pics and less words.
