After looking at all the pics, I am ready to do it again. It's already been said a bunch, but Joel, those tracks were awesome.

Next time though on the end of the ride we should all gather up and route through State St. in SB instead of Montecito. We could make it a an ADV Rider parade.

we made it inside the base without any issue

small and big toys alike use this bridge

yes we are crazy riding on this hot day

we were lucky found this site with water (spigot) and shade, and quite big enough for all of us + bikes

time to relax

overall, it's not a bad place to camp, especially after the guys rode to king city and brought back refreshment and lots of ice.

the night was uneventful and many of us rested well. unlike kcl, there's no owl overhead serenading us.

btw, camping is $12 for 1 vehicle, and $6 for each additional vehicle. yes, a motorcycle is = 1 vehicle.

sunday ride

next morning, we got up early to beat the heat.

riding out back to nascimiento fergusson rd

as we get near the coast, not much to see

isaac may have gotten the last good pic here

for now, you have to be contended with this one

you'll be fine, just take it easy

regrouping at the bottom of the rd and watching harleys pass by

blake on the gsa, led the ride back to cambria. my 640 had to work hard to keep up

still really pretty even with the fog; that's just part of the equation

next stop was to get gas in cambria; obligatory gas prices pic

stopping for brunch

hmmm....too early for this one

i love pancakes, eggs and bacons

duy enjoying his too

south cambria, the coast highway is pretty much a straight away

approaching morro bag

we got off the highway into this canyon

took the easiest dirt road along the way

by taking the detour, we avoided san luis obispo

taking a break before getting on hw154 (cachuma highway)

Just picked up a KLR a couple days ago and wouldn't mind tagging along. I'm a Californian as well. Ontario.

as promised, i need to wrap this report considering i have another 30 minutes before i leave for RMAR (silverton co) today.

it's strange, everytime i turn around, i see this guy. gotta be my guardian angel who went rogue....

refugio road will take you to w.camino cielo; there's a road closed sign (cars will have a tough time going up)

finding dirt above santa barbara is like winning a lottery

that posture looks familiar

jg was the 3rd and last rider in our group; the rest pussied out.....

even though we can see the coast and get the ocean breeze, it was still hot

the fun part......splitting lanes

duy and i took turns doing our death wish ritual.....

the v sign for this trip

watch out for this PP...

well folks, thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed it.

tune in for the next one.

Hey Guys, I was wondering if the Coast Ridge Road is n00b friendly?
I have a freind who will be here from CO in Oct for the Horizons Unlimited meeting and was thinking of taking her off the beaten path this time. She's on a Tiger 800 "roadie", and has been riding a year and 10-12,000 miles, but only 20 mi of dirt roads.

And as long as we're selling CA, here's what Carrizo Plains looks like in the spring time.

Thanks Joel for RR and the great tracks once again. This is a must do noob ride for Southern & Central California Riders.

JustKip, yes it is noob friendly other than couple sections. But you can always help him out when he needs it.
