Yes. More than anything else, I wanted to see how well a DCT could improve my stop-n-go-n-slow commute. My previous bike was a Suzuki C50. It weighed maybe 650 lbs with accessories, and had even slightly less horsepower, torque, and crappier brakes than the NC so I wasn't really trading down in any department. The cruiser transmission was also happier with slightly longer shifts which lost opportunities to get ahead in traffic

Is there any kind of neutral button that you can use to coast for a second if you wanted to shake the cold out of your right hand on a long trip?

Yes it does. It's all under the seat.

I've only sat on this bike but I am EXTREMELY interested in it. If it rides like it sits it must be like a feather on rails. I'm 55 my days of 1/4 mile long wheelies are approx 35 years behind me and even those were on a dirt bike. If I want to race I'll buy a race bike. I don't want to race and I'm sure the 700 makes enough power to get out of it's own way.

I really think Honda might be onto something. Anyone know if the red ones are available in the US.

I see a few people talking about owning the bike in the US....But the web site says they are not available...who's lying?! I might head over to the local honda dealer and see how it fits IF they are actually available.

I believe all of the 2012 models are Silver/Black. Doesn't the model year change soon though? I don't know since these started showing up late summer. Silver wouldn't be my first choice, that's if we had a choice.

Called two dealers nearby today. One says it should arrive next week as they just received the invoice. The other has one on the floor. Going to go check it out tomorrow.

I want to see good pics of the Honda luggage rack/top box carrier installed without the top box on it. I can't make up my mind which way to go either with Honda stuff or aftermarket. Please take pics of that if you install one. Thanks!
Here is a pic of the optional sidecarrier rails with the optional rear rack mounted. You have to mount the pannier rails in order to mount the rear rack.

BTW, you have to do a bit of cutting to the rear cowl in order to mount the pannier racks. The instructions include a template.

I hate silver. Should I sell my XRL for a reasonable amount of money, I will be looking at this bike and some red paint...
When do they post the new model year colors?

Mine is red. I bought red because red motorcycles are faster.

don't have the book in front of me, but IIRC,

600 mile, is replace oil and filter, check the valves, basically the usual 'break in' inspection stuff.

After that, its r/r oil and filter & check the valves every 8,000 miles and replace the plugs every 12,000.

No, in this case they are more economical.

Dealer freight&Prep

Dealer freight&prep charge adds to the price of a bike by 5 or 6 hundred dollars. Any way around this extra charge?
