Regardless of what Ben has done I hope Jarvis looks into this knowing that the reputation of his team in on the line. What would have happened if the bike broke going into turn 1?
As you say, a lot of mechanical problems that shouldn't have happened in any team, let alone a top factory one - the latest one potentially lethal.

I think I'd have taken the hint too.

I agree with this, although the latest "issue" seemed to happen after he pulled the plug, which is even more interesting....

Nicky is riding his heart out to keep his ride, Rossi can cruise around waving to the crowd, and Ducati would still pay him. He even said it was disheartening to ride a bike he knows he can't win on. So, Rossi ain't killing himself for sixth, but sixth or fifth for Nicky is good for what he needs to do get a contract.

I could be wrong, but Rossi is a wiley crafty champion and I do not think his skills have eroded. Next year will be fun.

I read somewhere that it was Nicky's choice to make it one year. He wanted options at the end of next year.

If you're using this yardstick to measure goats and other animals, neither Stoner nor Rossi can hold a candle to Agostini. And didn't you get the memo that says 1 title on the Ducati = 10 titles on the fancy Japanese stuff?

Not juicy for the Rossi butthurt crowd. But it would be Stoner's ultimate bitch slap...to everyone.

Oh, Marlboro...

I know Krop keeps saying Stoner will never ride a Moto GP bike again, but Stoner has said he might like doing a single wild card ride.

Pipe dreams....
I doubt he would perform on the Ducati like he used to. He had a taste of the good stuff and more importantly, he is a dad now. I don't think he would take the same risks again.

But he doesn't have to beat 9 world titles to be the goat.

He has to beat 15 to beat Agostini, so not even Rossi is the GOAT as he has not even beaten Nieto as yet so both have a long way to go

Krop tweeting the Rossi story was a hoax, a hijacked twitter account and some clever bullshitting.

Who cares- it's the inane "days of our life" chatter about it that's important

Interesting comparison of the last two seasons in terms of on track successes. Does make you wonder in some cases why contracts are being renewed.

An interesting side effect if Rossi leaves is potentially more budget to turn the Duc into something worth a shit...

No question a better Ducati is better for the series...;

That assues the same level of sponsorship as when Rossi was there. That might not be the case, as he was the reason for much of the sponsor $$$$$.

I hope you're right, but I just don't see it.

I don't think it will be a straight one-for-one, but i definitely think Rossi leaving means more money for Ducati to spend on the rest of the team/bike...or less money in the annual motogp budget...or both.

How much did Ducati pay Rossi this year? I mean, specifically ducati, not monster or anyone else.
