This is also a Sportster seat. The original solo mounts were broken and I need to weld up some new ones. A fellow NM /2 owner/inmate donated his old Steiger solo seat so I have something to work with.

This is a Harley seat too, adapted from an XR750 mould. I don't like sitting where BMW tells me to, I can move around much more with this seat.

I like my Giuliari, a little more than a solo (for a close friend).

BMW Bayer has a good replica at a good price.

Solo seats:

This solo seat is a copy of a Denfield Police seat. I made it by cutting the original seat pan down, and had a local upholsterer cut foam and cover it.

Here is the Denfield seat that we copied on my other R75/5:

I find the Police seat a lot more comfortable than the stock seat on my /5. Its softer, even with 40 year old foam.

Thanks, supershaft.

I made this from the stock seat, original seat pan and original foam. I trimmed about 10" off the back of the pan following the original curve. I then removed 10" from the middle of the foam - attached the front 1/3 of the foam to the back 1/3 (approx.) Did a little scultpting on the bump stop foam and brought it to the upholsterer for some new vinyl.

I agree. I love mine. I have put a 1000 miles on it in the past week and it's firm & comfortable.

There's a couple of sources out there for solo seats that fit straight on to airheads.
Start with this one to start with:

Let me know what you're looking for and I can send you a few links
