Mra x-screen opinions
it appears MRA now offering a slightly taller vario screen than there original. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade...view/7397/723/
for $200 for a variable screen, it seems like a good deal. I didn't see any reviews on this one on the windshield thread here. anyone have this screen, and how do you like it?

I've got the orignal Vario on mine (has been since day 1) and I love it. I can see where a slightly taller version would be nice.

Either one of you guys have hand guards? Any issues at full lock?

5'11". I have the original Vario on an F650GS twin. Really quieted things down but it's still a motorcycle.
The main screen on the new "X" looks the same; just the adjustable flipper is larger, taller. I had to dremel the right side mid way up about 3/4" X 1/2" to clear TouraTech hand guards at full lock.

Did you end up with it? I'm currently in Europe and the Touratech screen is about $60 cheaper than in the US. Probably will buy it here before I leave.

I had a Vario on one of my other bikes and loved it. Being able to 'tune' the position to what works best for my specific height/riding position is a great idea and worked well.
I would be hesitant to buy another, however as when one of the hinges mounting the screen was damaged in a very low speed drop, not only was I not able to source a replacement (the rest of the screen was fine), but Vario ignored multiple emails from me asking them if they sold replacements separately. If it had been £60, I'd have just bought a whole new screen, but that level of service on such a premium product is unacceptable to me (even though the product itself was great, if a little fragile).

I missed this until now...I do have the TT handguards on my bike and at full lock they barley touch...not enough to worry about or interfere with anything.

Here it is installed. Didn't get to go out for a ride yet but looks to be an improvement over the stock 800 screen.

Much better than stock. Took it up to 80mph last night with the spoiler at different heights and angles. The ride is much quieter now. It's no Honda Goldwing but way better. I can actually hear the motor.
