Winter bike
I crumbled under pressure last fall, and got a cage for the winter. Winter before that I rode a 88 TA, and that worked out sorta OK, not the best tires on it and slightly top heavy on ice, but otherwise OK. Due to unforeseen whipping by the missus, I do not have it anymore, I do have a Hardly for the summertime and such, but it´s a stretch riding it during the winter. Probably doable, but no way I am polishing the chrome everyday to keep it decent during the winter.
I am getting a little too comfortable with the cage, so I am looking at getting a bike before what little snow we get around here falls again. The winters are mostly wet with ice and a little snow once and whenever. Think about it as a long-ass, cold fall from september throughout march ;) What bike do you ride in the wintertime? And, more importantly, what kind of winter do you have? Light/heavy bikes, no fairing/fairing and soforth. |

KLR650.
You won't care when it falls over and nobody will be surprised to see it go down the road in slushy muck. Polish is strongly advised to be kept as far away as possible, the rust is considered as sweet patina over the warty welds by common owners. Ride it in salt as often as possible.
