^ +100 good God yes, a bathroom for the daughters. When ever we went on a trip I would have everyone bathroom up just before leaving. We never made it past 100 miles before stopping - pathetic!

Everybody has their own bunk, they can take seista's while you're bombing down the highway, they can get up and move around and are not confined to the back seat of a car, the visibility is 'usually' awesome, and....you've got a bathroom that can be used while on the road. (a BIG PLUS + if you've got daughters!!)
I've been all over this idea....................wife won't do it bc she is paranoid about bedbugs, other peoples spooge, alergies and the cost.

Then I say but we are planning on buying a used machine so.........................her argument is she will be in charge of the cleaning not some donk at the rental co.

Absolute GARBAGE!!!

They failed their trials but the military took them anyway. Right after they were newly delivered there was a warning that soldiers weren't allowed to take them off-road because the transfer case mounts would break. The brakes on them would screech so loudly you could be heard for literally miles away. Gutless.

The procurement of those colossally useless pieces of kit was criminal!

Yup. That's it.

Sorry to hear that they have such a bad rep. They seemed like a nicely sized and well equipped truck.

Too rich for my blood - but I'd love to have something similar.

Not really something I'd choose but pretty neat nonetheless.

Saw one of these for sale recently...How is it? How does it drive/ride? What kind of mileage do you get?

Earlier this week was the first time I ever towed a bike on a trip. I converted our tow dolly to bring the Ural to the Adirondacks with us. I, Glasswife, (#1 Farkle on ADVRider) and dogs were all glad we brought it along.

I made a small hitch to move the dolly around once we got to the campground. (I wouldn't use this hitch for anything else.)

People that saw me ride in asked if I actually towed a car with the bike.

are not you worried about the tow dolly beating the crap out of the bike as the dolly has no suspension?

The bike still has its suspension. No different the riding it. FWIW, no suspension on my MC trailer either.

Not at all. I can see it in the rear view camera and it was not bouncing at all. If anything, the 15 inch tires of the dolly do a better job alone than do the tiny tires and leaf springs that I've seen on many bike trailers. I think I also have better odds of not having the wheel bearing problems that too many small trailers seem to have. Besides all that, you don't think that RV is capable of much rough road going, do you?
