Good link... i have that one saved. I knew going in what to expect, i have had my eye on these when they first showed up. I was hoping that they would improve after a few years of production.

Well this is some fun shit...
Have to elongate 2 of the holes in my FP to get the bolts thru to the misplaced inserts in the tank or else they'll cross thread. I just might get to trying to mount one by tomorrow.

Stock gasket material on mine was rotting away (Ethanol maybe?) but one of the other Orange Crush guys hooked me up with a thinker material that stayed together

I like you guys for not liking the translucent tanks. Because of that, I got mine for about a grand shipped because he had been sitting on them and couldn't unload them.
No mater how long I rode, a quick glance down showed me how much gas I had and in the dark, a quick flick of the turn signal lit up the entire tank showing me the level

I guess these tanks are a must for Australian riders?
Because of scarce fuel stations?

I like the translucent for the same reason, I put black markers every 4 litre's on mine so I know just how much fuel i have, no need to carry fuel you dont need and on the smaller rides I put 10 or 15 in each side.

Sorry, that was when new, they now have 11,000 miles on them but I cheated, I did them all in 21 days. Riding back and forth to Starbucks would have taken too long

You should send that picture to Francois at DualSportTouring. He'd get a kick out of seeing his sticker on the bike.
