Depends what kind of riding you are looking for. There are a lot of awesome things to see in UT and CO alone. Coming in on 70, you could cross CO a couple of ways that would be full of incredible roads. My suggestion would be to get the Butler CO and UT maps and start there. They won't have all the gnarly roads marked, but they do have a lot of scenic byways marked as well as many unpaved options.

One option might be to cross CO from the NE to the SW, heading generally for Mexican Hat so you can ride the Valley of the Gods road (part of the UTBDR...another map you can get from Butler BTW) and maybe head toward Moab from there. Some highlights I'd want to hit would be Rocky Mountain National Park (from Estes to Grand Lake), Mt. Evans, Guanella Pass Road, Cottonwood Pass near Buena Vista, 50 between Gunnison and Montrose is very pretty, the "Million Dollar Highway" from Ridgway to Durango is an amazing road...one of the most scenic rides in the country probably. If you've ever wanted to see the cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde, you could do so on your way to Cortez, then over to Bluff through Canyons of the Ancients. From Bluff, there is the Valley of the Gods, then maybe head north to Moab (probably only about a thousand awesome options to get there), or head west toward Lake Powell, Kodachrome Basin, Bryce Canyon, Zion National Monument, Toroweap overlook on the Grand Canyon, then burn it back on I15/I70 all the way home.

I like this plan. But don't replace the tires until you get to where you can get on forest roads. Custer is the bomb. Call ahead to a shop and have tires waiting for you. Can't go wrong with heidenau
