Fish, that's a very tempting tag. That area is one of my favorite places to ride, and I love NC 22. No dice for me tonight, but I may make the run tomorrow.

If can ride a different bike over to the tag, grab it and move it if needed!

The weather did not cooperate with my plans for the triple play yesterday. I'm shocked that one of the NCNC players hasn't snuck in to grab it though. I love riding that area of NC, and I would tell anyone that this tag is well worth the ride.

.. well .. went after this one tonight .. FAIL ..

.. after having a tech-fail on the NCNCTAR I decided to still go after this one .. and was even thinking of running the trifect tonight just for kicks as I was feeling pretty sure they would not be standing by the time I had some time off and the opportunity to run them later ..

.. well .. dark-thirty got darker .. then about ten miles out the rain started falling .. just a little drizzle .. no biggy .. the pavement under the trees overhanging the roads were still dry so I figured it had not been falling long nor very hard .. then my Garmin sends me down Brower Meadow Road, which looks just fine on the Satellite view but is in fact gravel .. and those long buildings you see on the satellite view?? .. yeah .. Dairy Farm .. anyone been around a Dairy Farm in the rain?? .. oh it's an odor not to be missed and one that I have not experienced since childhood ..

.. that's about the time I started laughing at myself and the situation ..

.. wheeled into the new church parking lot, which is right next door to the historical church .. young man sitting on the front porch across the street was eyeing my pretty hard while he was chatting on his cordless phone .. I was tempted to pull up under the cover to what looked like the fellowship hall .. but decided against it .. especially with a witness .. lol .. buy now it was actually raining real raindrops and acting like a rain shower .. complete with the lightening and everything ..

.. now there was no chance in the world I was going to go off-roading through the yard to get a pic .. much less drag my iPhone out in to the rain to do so .. lol .. so I packed it up and wheeled it back home just as the fog was starting to rise and get thick .. lol .. it was great .. still smiling at myself ..

.. the rain kinda caught me by surprise .. I had just been down in this area for most of the day with not a cloud in sight and near-perfect weather all day long while we were at the zoo .. yeesh ..

.. by the time I got ten miles up 421 north the rain broke and the ride home was a great opportunity to dry out and just enjoy the night ..

.. good night ..

Sorry but I had to ---> when I read this. Nice effort RevBill. There is a small drive at the smaller white church that is a lot closer to the old church than the newer larger white church.

.. I'm still chuckling over the whole thing myself .. I'd love to hear what that kid across the street has to say .. lol ..

.. was gonna head down this afternoon but I looked at the radar first .. yeah .. not happening ..

Well I have Friday off but me and my son will be headed in the other direction to place the ABC TAG in Hyde county. It will be an all day event as it will be a 4 hour one way not counting fuel stops and food. So I am looking at 9 hours on the little Ascot riding 2 up.

Should prove eventful to say the least. Got to change the oil in the bike tonite. It's over due.

Hey Wolf,

I like the little bike. Handles great. So so on the power but it is only 500cc

I'm sure we will meet up sometime. You can take it for a spin.

I keep thinking I can do an after work grab, but "after work" keeps getting later and later this week.

Grab .. Yeah baby .. Buddy of mine and a potential new tagger (new inmate) came along for the ride .. OhNoes .. Joined yesterday ..

That's Doug's '82 Suz GS850 .. Bone-stock when he got it from another co-worker ..

Sent from RevBill's iPhone using Tapatalk .. Ride Blessed y'all ..

Edit .. the details ..

Doug is a buddy of mine at work .. new rider with only a few hundred miles under his belt until today .. lol .. he's doing great and that GS850 is a really nice bike ..

.. so off we go for Doug's introduction to Tag-a-Rama .. easy ride down from up here in Mayodan .. as we turn onto Ramsuer-Julian Road up rolls a nice BMW with all the trimmings .. friendly wave from the rider and I was thinking Doug and I were screwed .. lol .. so I ask him if he is one of the guys from ADV .. he's never heard of ADV .. so much to the distress of the car that pulled up behind us we have a quick chat and I give him the advrider.com info and my name .. hope he joins us .. beautiful bike .. I have GOT to start carrying my camera on a lanyard around my neck for fast access and quick shots ..

.. here's some more shots of the Church .. pretty amazing when you think about the years and history this place has seen .. the celebrations .. the sorrows .. the families that have passed through these doors and worshiped here ..

I (finally) learned how to use the timer and started carrying a portable tripod ..

The plaque out front ..

.. from the front door to the pulpit ..

.. a shot of one of the upper pews/balcony seating from the pulpit ..

.. brother Doug checking the weather to make sure no lightning was nearby .. lol ..
