New book release
Wollongong to Woolwich
In February 2011 my wife Kate and I set off on our motorbikes from the town of Wollongong in Australia heading for Woolwich in south east London. Over 5 months we covered about 15,000 miles through 21 countries. We crossed the emptiness of the great Aussie outback and negotiated manic traffic in Bangkok, Delhi and Lahore. We rode the fabled and dangerous Karakoram Highway through the mountains of Pakistan, crossed the 4600 metre Khunjerab pass into China and in Russia, had a BBQ with some Hells Angels.
This book not only tells the story of our long ride home but also includes a rough A-Z of information for anyone planning a trip like this or similar. We wrote the book not only for us but for anyone who has ever thought about or dreamt of doing a big adventure like this. It wasn’t an easy trip to do but we want to show that it can be done, by us, by you, by anyone. Be warned though, reading it may get inspired, get on your bike and before you know it you’ll be on an adventure of your very own.

"Don't worry" they said "It could be worse"
