Nice Video. Glad you made it back without injury.

Are you posting up more pics? Don't let work get in the way.

The Loop (not the luggage)

Pictured below is the actual path that I followed. Without injury or major breakdown I managed to get over Engineer, Ophir, Imogene, Owl Creek, Pearl, Taylor, and a few other not so notable passes.

If someone really wanted a more challenging experience I would substitute Engineer and Ophir for Stoney, California, and Black Bear.

I rode for 4 days and plans for 2 more days however the wheels were following off the wagon at work and I had to return.

I have the GPX tracks if anyone wants them, just PM me. ( I do not know how to attach them to the thread)

Day 1

I trucked to Del Norte from Sapulpa, OK. My truck parking host was a huge help in allowing me to have a great place to start my trip.

Thanks Clive!

The Newner Loop!, ready for its first Trial

Heading into the Rio Grande, always packed with good trails....

As I made my way though the Rio Grande, I spotted a lone rider. It appeared he was taking pictures of some cows(not sure) at the bottom of the hill. So I stopped to say hello......... I discovered that it was the Fastest American(Ned Suesse aka neduro) in the 2012 Dakar rally. So I proceeded to act like a 11 year old girl around Justin Bieber.

Turns out he was leading this group from the Colorado 600. Clive (parking host and Trail Preservation Alliance Representative) had explained the motives behind the event and it seemed like a very worth while cause. http://www.colorado600.org/Colorado_...2/Welcome.html

To quote Ned in his inspection of the KLR....."is that a pair of pants?" as he was looking at the Newner Loop.

More Grande pics.

On my way to Lake City.

Stopped for some lunch.

Leaving Lake City I noticed a panic in the streets, the Tourist were fleeing for their lives.

This clearly vicious Bear was hell bent on attacking every last one of them, just as soon as it was done hugging this tree.

I quickly raced out of Lake City having survived yet another near death experience.

More Day 1, pics, pics, pics

To Engineer

The Top

Ophir, pretty un-eventful, did not even see a pass sign

Time to look for camp, stumbled upon this camp host who had decorated his camp site in a way that reminded me that I was at some random lake in Oklahoma.

I found some free camping up by Alta Lakes.

My campsite came furnished with fine Crystal and complimentary wiener sticks.

Perfect utensils for my fine dining experience

I have a perfect understanding of my environment and I have identified the major risk when camping alone....... of course I am speaking of ZOMBIES and if one or two show up I will be ready with my Hack and Bang Zombie kit the ultimate zombie double tap weapons..

So I sleep always keeping an ear out for the mumbling words as I sleep..............BRAAAAINs

Day 2

I started with a quick ride up to Alta Lake, my camp was 3 miles away and I felt it would be a waste I did not check it out.

Breakfast in the land of Yoga Pants.....ahhh. (Telluride)

Blending in with the locals who rode to breakfast

Climbing to Imogene.

Newner Loop crash test # 1 (I always go down in the easy spots)

The loop was a little frazzled but still operational.

Onward

Imogene Pass

Ouray

Owl Creek

Owl Creek Pass

Slabbing it to Gunnison

Crested Butte, Gas Up, Cliff bar for lunch, and on to Pearl Pass.

It is always a good time, even when you are by yourself.
