No sir, we left Ouray and had to go to Buena Vista to drop our friend Kris off at his truck. We took the scenic route through Crested Butte and hit some more passes.

Glad to see I'm not the only one riding a 12GS over Engineer. It really wasnt bad until the last 5 miles or so.

Great report and pictures Ted. Ouray is a cool town and the steak at Outlaws was pretty good. John has a personality and can talk to people so he finds out the bar tender at Outlaws is from western Arkansas and has lived in Ouray for like 20 years. I think John let me go to Colorado with him so I could help him pick up his bike. The jokes on him

Yes those KTM's work so much better than my GS. I had to keep mine in first or the fatty started wallowing on the big climbs.

Thats funny, we ran into another guy at a store in Ouray and he had just moved there from Bentonville. Small world! I didnt find the steak "amazing", but the atmosphere was really cool!

Love the old house with bay window at Animas Forks and the color of the water in the small lake at Huricane pass I believe it is.....The whole place is amazing from jeep or bike and The Outlaw has a Tenderloin Medalions thing on the menu that I like but cant say I ever had a bad meal there. Went about 10 years in a row and last was the just me and the dog in 08.

Awesome Wayno, sounds like you know the place well!

I just cant say I'd be comfortable in a cage going over those passes, espescially with my kiddos. There was a family on one of those passes driving Polaris Rzr's, the dad and mom were in one and she was holding about a year old baby. The second Rzr had their son who looked to be about 10 driging it, and a daughter in the passenger seat that was a little older. Absolutely incredible, anything can happen out there, espescially with the young boy driving.

My buddy used to take his 6mth old and 4yo over all that stuff including Black Bear.
We also met a guy that got out of his jeep the year before and didn't set parking brake and his wife went over the side...there she was with him again half paralized and eating Valium and Pain killers for the part that wasn't paralized...unbelievable. Been on 2 wheels (side 2) many times. strong butt muscles from holding on to the seat. Saw you did Last Dollar also
