Isn't there a factory streetfighter type thing coming for next year?

they don't make one for 2012+

there's a geometry change in 2012.

you really don't need to goto that extreme. I found helibars to work well but they vib worse than stock bars due to light weight. I'm going to get some HEAVY bar ends.

I have a superbike bar setup on my 954rr like the picture above. I've done 750+ mile days on it without a single complaint. Ugly or not, I would do it again!

I just got back from a 7 day 2000 mile ride on my new '12 S1KRR. I fully expected to be in a world of hurt after a day or two. While it was not the most comfortable bike I could have taken it wasn't that bad. One advil in the morning and one at night was enough to take the edge off.

I'm 6'-1". 210 lbs.

I used the BMW tail bag. I'd probably want to add a tank bag next time. A long weekend trip would be fine with just the tail bag but 7 days was a bit tight to pack. I brought a GoPro with suction cup mount and I had to leave it on the tank the whole trip as there was no room left for it in the tail bag.

I used a small cramp buster to reduce the fatigue on the throttle wrist. I didn't have much issue with the seat. I plan on trying out a Sargent seat to see if that helps any. I had more trouble with the pegs or the lack of any way to stretch my legs. If I had framesliders I might have a place to park my feet to stretch on the longer riding segments. I like the idea of adjustable pegs but I'm nervous about the aftermarket ones not collapsing when in contact with the pavement.

Before I left I thought the higher windshield might help. But after the trip I leaned to appreciate the clean airflow when above the windshield. Tucking behind just made things noisy. +1 for good earplugs.

I'm looking for a GPS solution now. Might move the autocom from the R12ST over. There isn't much room for accessories. I was content with just listening to the stock exhaust for the week.

I would do this without hesitation on my GSXR 1000 if I didn't want to use it for track duty as well.
Kind of lame, that site shows a RC8 in the background of the main page, yet offers nothing for them.

I would like to do a bar conversion on my RC8R, but will probably have to go custom triple clamp to do so... At least with S1000rr you are covered should you want to use it as a street bike.

You may find a top yoke from ebay and mod it to accept bars. Will be cheaper anyway.
