Someone with more experience can chime in, but that looks like an output shaft (?) seal. Hopefully the bike is still under warranty.
Do you also have oil/ dirt here?

I have slightly black colour oil as shown on your photo. Is that the transmission gear oil?

Is there any gasket between the gearbox housing and engine block?
I thought there is only some sealant between them...

What's the oil smell like? Gear oil smells pretty nasty compared to motor oil.

More than likely it is motor oil. I am no expert, but I believe the leak is from the rear main seal on the engine. The set up is much like a car; transmission and engine are separated by shaft seals. Thumb through the thread linked at the bottom of my photo. Well, the photo came from that thread.

Likely motor oil from the output shaft for either the main drive - shaft into the clutch or the counter balancer (compensating) shaft seal - that hangs out into the clutch area.

There is no sealing on the cases as the clutch sits "out" in the open air - so there are two shafts that come out of the engine that it could be - main - clutch drive shaft - or the counter balancer shaft.

It could be the trans input shaft as noted - and some bikes have had some issues with that seal - either way.... the engine shafts all sit above the oil level - so it is not too bad unless it really starts pumping/seeping out.

Looks like a fair bit though - did you over fill the engine?

When mine leaked it was not that fresh - it came out slowly and got dirty and gummed up....

Seal is really easy to replace and can be done in 5 mins... however getting to it will take a day.

I think the main issue is the fact that if there is enough oil it will leak onto the clutch and contaminate that. IF it is the compensating shaft - that is very low and not likely to throw too much oil up.

??? Warranty??

Warranties can vary from country to country, but I would say that you are covered. You haven't had it but for 6 months. You can call the shop where you want to take it and give them your VIN #. That will say for sure how long your warranty is.

Laugh or cry? I can't decide which would be more appropriate?
