Info on Jawa 50......1967
Just bought a Jawa 50 1967. Also has owners manual....cool....
Doesn't look to bad, see pic, the Previous owner said the fuel tap was bad but it checks out so don't know what the problem is. Don't know if I am going to keep it or not. Anyone know any info on this bike? Like is there a forum for these or any idea on price? Hopefully this link works https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot...eat=directlink

Looks a little like a Simpson schwalbe(?). Check the oldscoots yahoo group, lots of older scooter guys.

My friends Dad purchased 3 of these scooters new in 66 from a salvage company. They had been submurged during transit on their journey to Canada.
Eaton's our largest dept store at the time sold them under the "ROAD KING" brand. We cleaned them up, flushed out some of the bits and drove the hell out of them, 2up camping trips, everyday transportation, comuted in the snow, towed a boat and trailer once. Eventually we stripped the bodywork and tried our luck riding them in the dirt, my first broken collarbone. They were traded, passed on to newer riders as we moved up, ours were burgandy coloured. |

Google search "Eaton Road King" it was an Ebay post
Search also for "Jawa 50 type 05" lots of stuff, mostly Czech www.jawamoped.com/html/manuals.html Have you noticed that the wheels are interchangeable. Anyways, I'm off to the woods, I'll check back in Thursday |

i just picked one of these up (a 1966 sport 05). got it running this morning, i'm looking for a seat and a taillight assembly. the seat looks suspiciously similar to the tatran seat. if it's the same, would be easier to source...
