Seeing her armband reminded me of when my daughter was born. She had an RF band around he ankle. They never told us (or we didn't hear with all that was going on) what it was and it was very small. My wife was trying to nap so I took my daughter out in the hall and was walking around with her. Apparently the RF ankle bands were to set off alarms mounted at all the doorways in case she was taken beyond a certain point. I did just that. I never heard a single sound though. I just went through an open double door into another hall and within 10 seconds was looking at about 8 nurses who had blocked the hall. Funny stuff!

She sure is pretty Anti!

Anyone interested in Got Gear Bike Night after work tonight?

Quote:
...TONIGHT IS BIKE NIGHT!!!!! We're going to leave the shop just after 6, take a short ride, and wind up at Georgia Blue. If you're not familiar with the place, its in Colony Crossing Shopping center in Madison. It sits between Home Depot and Kroger. We'll be there around 7 if you can't make it here to the shop to ride with us. We'd love to have you join us at Georgia Blue for some great food, fun, fellowship, and good music from The Bluesman. The weather should be perfect so come out and join us.

Sounds good but after downloaded the new OS for my iPhone, it crashed and I can't restore it so I'll be sitting at the Apple store after work.

And that is exactly why my iphony 4 is still on OS 4.37 and as soon as my prison sentence with verLIzon runs it's course the iphony will be gone. I've had enough of this over priced, over hyped toy smartphone.

Just curious, which device are you using it on? Of all the apple devices my ipad(gen1) wasn't on the list that would accept the OS. I find that strange in that the old iPhones will take it. No problems yet with my freshly upgraded i4s. And, it upgraded without being hardwired to a computer. I just hope that the new map works without cell or wifi coverage. Before, while in inaccessable locations, the map and GPS were unusable for sole GPS use.

4G (non S) and since many of the features were iPhone 5 related, I was surprised to see it come up. It didn't require me to be connected to my PC either. (until it bonked out that is)

The bad thing is that I'm heading out of town in the morning early. If they can't fix it, I'll have to get a new one tonight. What come out tomorrow? The new iPhone 5. Which means I will have to wait until next week to get a phone (assuming there are any available by then) or just replace mine with a 4S.

I may have to borrow my daughters for the trip and listen to 1,000 incoming texts the whole weekend.

Have you tried connecting it to iTunes to see if it will restore it? Or hold the power button and the home button down at the same time to hard boot it.

I grabbed the final version and installed on my 4s last week, no problems. I installed the update on my iPad 2 last night over wifi, no issues with that one either. Fedex says my 5 will be here tomorrow.

I guess if there aren't new features you want or your phone doesn't play well when the new iOS update is installed, stay with the old one, but at least Apple makes the updates available. When there's a security update or new feature update for Android released by Google, when/how does the phone user get it even? iOS 6 installs on phones all the way back to the 3Gs that came out 3 years ago. My wife bought an Android last fall, a couple of months later Android 4.0 was released (4.1 is out now). They didn't release a version for hers though, so it's stuck running 2.something.

Android updates are controlled by each carrier, unless you root your phone. My android phone is stuck on 2.3 or something back then. About to get a new one... They have so many android phones, the carriers can't test and get the updates out...

Yeah, that's kind of what I was getting at. You buy the Android phone from Samsung or whoever, 2 months later Google releases the next OS version, Samsung never bothers to tests and release a version for your phone because they're releasing an updated model (or whatever other reason they come up with). They've got no incentive to release an update for your phone and would rather you buy a new one. Sorry about also, we're not bothering with fixing that either, too much trouble to test.

Apple at least has some motivation for keeping the last 2-3 generations of phone on the latest OS, because they own the app store and get a cut of sales, and apps are generally designed for the latest iOS version.
