Mate the trackside campground gets softer and softer every year, you'll have no trouble sleeping just take some earplugs with you and you'll be fine.

2 cents worth....
Stay in Trackside camp ground, - too many griswalds over in high side. The further you camp away from the track, ie closer to the entry to the camp ground, the quieter it gets.I have some friends that camp on the fence at the track, they party all weekend. I find it's nice to visit and touch the madness rather than be part of it. But there was that time drinking vodka sans mixers that got me good..... Food is ok in the camp ground, jam filled sugar coated donuts are a real treat - I look forward to them every year. Hmm donuts! Be prepared to re-live the seventies / eighties with the entertainment - they normally have a cabaret act doing ACDC or Angels etc. The Giants are OK. There is a small shop in the campground where you can buy milk bread coffee and other basics. Drop into the supermarket in Cowes and get your chair, esky and food. St Vinnies is good for cutlery and plates etc. Take a small exteremly waterproof tent, not too tall as they tend to blow over (mine is about 1.2 high - so you can get changed in it etc.) Be prepared for almost any weather condition, hot, cold, windy, wet, dry in almost any combination except hot and wet at the same time. Water proof boots are a must as is your full wets. Bring sun screen there's no ozone down there It's a great ride down there (this year on dirt) its good to camp, catch up with old mates, make new ones and they have a bike race as well. Cheers Wayne |

I'll be camping trackside this year, none of my mates were interested so I'll be on my lonesome. Hopefully not for long though!

Got my officials letter today, I'm a 'Radio Flag Marshal' this time around.
Going to be camping as well, The last time I camped was for the final Aussie superbike race in 1988 (and first race meeting after the track was remade)! Every other time it has been in a house or cabin... Leaving on Monday or Tuesday, travelling with all my mates (by myself). Done it too many time with groups..shits me. Better pull the finger out and finish building the bike.. Hope to catch up with a few of you lot over a beer. Pete

If you are camping you will be able to get a spot with a good view, if you get your spot early and hang on to it.
![]() If you want to arrive close to the start of the main races you will struggle, this year they are expecting a huge crowd. The best spots will fill early. |
