Matt just ridden the apc rally with my new bashplate on the 640a, it didn't miss a beat matt and carried a heap of gear that I was relieved to have with me. Even survived a head on with an xtrail on the last day with only minor scuffing.
Cheers mate, very happy.
Neil.

Crash Test Dummy

Went for a little ride out the back of Nowra to test my new Tank bag and ended up testing out the bash plate in a head on crash with a KTM 300.
I was on my way out of a left hand bend and about to head into the right hander that had a log across most of the track on Slab Hill Rd and as I started to head in I see a bike jumping off the erosion mound coming down the hill into the bend . He hit the brakes and locks it all up and I thinking good hes going to low side it into the sand for a nice soft landing but no he gets it all together and goes towords my right but then see the log and tries to cut across in front of me . By this time Im just about stopped on the out side of the bend when he slams straight into the side of me.
Just be for inpact I let go of the right bar and drop the sholder into him as he hit me The front wheel hit the side of the bash plate and his foot peg also slamed into the bash plate bending it in.The bash plate save my foot from the foot peg inpact. The hit was that hard that my bike was turned past 90 degrees and he went flying off my sholder which I dont think he was to happy about.
Damage to the bike was a dented bash plate and a broken mirror me a sore shoulder and some tender ribs.

You can see where the front tyre hit and the peg.

I think it may of saved me from a lot more damage and pain

Cheers Matt

They turn up at Beyong as I was finishing lunch and he didnt say boo to me but a few of his mates came over for a chat. When I left I showed then how a real man rides a real bike by pulling out onto the Highway and poping it up in second then clicked it into thrid and wheelied off down the road with a car comming towards me flashing there lights and bipping there horn chearing me on which was a good little bit of fun.
